Neil Pryde continues an exceptional year for product design with news that the Neil Pryde
2003 Sail Collection has been awarded the coveted Gold Award in the Business Week
/ Industrial Design Excellence Awards. This is widely viewed as the world's leading
international product design showcase, with top brands such as BMW, Motorola and Apple
Computer also earning Golds in this year's awards. This comes hot on the heels of four other
leading European industrial design awards, that the company has won earlier this year.
The Neil Pryde Sail Collection and the Flow Binding System have each won awards in both the Red Dot Awards and IF
-
Design Award competitions held in March this year.
"Design is no longer simply a matter of getting the function right or of adding a coat
of paint at the end of the development process" says Neil Pryde Brand Manager
Simon Narramore, "these products have been designed from the ground up to not
only function perfectly but to become objects of desire, this years' sails are a very
seductive combination of engineering and elegance and that's what makes The
Difference." The edition shown above is the July 7th Asian Edition of Business
Week, where the story made the cover. It would appear that the current US and
European Issues have a different cover stories, but do still have the Industrial
Design Excellence Awards inside.
